The voice of Morcheeba for many years, Skye broke out on her own in 2006. This five-song EP showcases her singular honeyed tones during an acoustic radio session at Los Angeles’ KCRW. With only Skye’s voice and a guitar in play, her abilities shine unfettered. She does a cover of the Gorillaz’ “Feel Good Inc.,” which gives that song a warm and otherworldly vibe that is very far away from the original while paying tribute to it. Besides three songs from her own solo debut, Mind How You Go, Skye also does a version of Morcheeba’s “The Sea,” which shows the other two need her more than she needs them.
