Bit dull.

Various Artists The Orb: Back to Mine DMC Release date: February 18, 2003
Expected and appreciated are the first ethereal layers of this CD. But then the calming effect is disrupted by tweaks and angry pounding. There starts to be a common feel of trippiness when that is sidetracked with an old Motown vibe. Most of the songs are more disturbing than relaxing. The CD goes deep and dark to shades of electroclash to low deep funk. Individually most of the songs could stand on their own but the mix isn’t congruent. The Back to Mine series has been a good source for rare gems that were over-looked in the past but most of these songs are either familiar or dull. This is supposed to be what The Orb listens to after a night out. I guess if your tweekin’ at 5 in the morning it would all make sense.
