Delerium Chimera Nettwerk Release date: June 24, 2003
Take a step out of reality and into your mind. The reunited voices behind Delerium, Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber, present Chimera, an album that takes you on a mystical journey that provokes emotions from within and thoughts about your life. It is an album that incites feelings and thoughts that modern day trends drown out. Although Delerium’s sound is a distinct one that never has much variation, it is nonetheless intoxicating. Chimera returns to the form of 1997s breakthrough album Karma, a moving, eloquent presentation of tracks that are highlighted with the sultry crooning of various female vocalists. Chimera is a bit jazzier, and more chill-out-oriented compared to Delerium’s earlier work. Within this sonically uplifting soundscape Leeb and Fulber present a strong suggestion of their previous work in industrial music with the post-industrial attitude of various cuts while they encourage their upcoming success with newer sounds of world music melodies.
