The other Prefuse.

Savath + Savalas Apropa’t Warp Records Release date: January 27, 2004
Scott Herren aka Prefuse 73, AKA Savath & Savalas (along with Eva Muns), continues to explore the realms of music. Apropa’t is another journey into sound, but this time around Herren departs from the melodic and clunky hip hop beats he is known for and embarks on a more angelic and soulful vibe. Spending 18 months in Barcelona the culture of the people has brought a calmer and subtler aspect to his production, with an ethnic feel. The Spanish lyrics of Muns blend beautifully with the melodies Herren constructs. The entire album sweeps you off unto a land of hammocks, palms, culture, and limitlessness. The airy tracks and the soulful Spanish vocals can only be described as beautiful, but at times the songs sounded much like each other. Yet, the genius of Herren is displayed as he expands his horizons and focuses it into his composition. |
